Darth Vader’s voice actor James Earl Jones is retiring

James Earl Jones, who has played Darth Vader’s distinctive voice for decades, will not record any additional dialogue for upcoming Star Wars projects.
Jones was looking into winding down this… character according to Star Wars sound supervising editor Matthew Wood in a Vanity Fair interview.
For the most current Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jones’s voice from the original Star Wars movies was remastered.
Additionally, some of Jones’ old voice recordings were utilized.
Jones reportedly gave Disney and Lucasfilm permission to reproduce his voice for upcoming Star Wars projects using AI and archival recordings.
Jones’s family expressed to Wood their satisfaction with the final output provided by the voice cloning company Respeecher, based in Ukraine.
