The Guy Fieri Foundation on Wednesday announced it will host a “once in a lifetime culinary experience” to raise money for relief efforts in Maui following the deadly wildfires earlier this month.
The Chefs for Maui Fundraiser will take place on Oct. 21 in Sonoma County, in California’s Wine Country.
Fieri and more than 20 award-winning chefs and Food Network stars will be involved in producing a 15-course dining experience with premium wines, chef interactions, and live music, the foundation said.
Tickets start at $2,500, but those who can’t be there in person are also able to donate.
Multiple fires swept across the Hawaiian island of Maui on Aug. 8, destroying the town of Lahaina and claiming at least 115 lives so far, marking the deadliest wildfire in U.S. history.
According to the latest update from Maui County, all single-story, residential properties in the affected area have been searched for fatalities so far. Searches of multistory residential and commercial properties are ongoing.
On Thursday, Maui County released a validated list of the 388 individuals who remain missing, and asked for the public’s help in identifying anyone who can be accounted for.
Thousands of people who were displaced from their homes were finally all moved from shared shelters to hotel accommodations earlier this week, officials said.
President Joe Biden visited the island on Monday and vowed to “rebuild this community the way you want it built — the way you want it — so it’s still a community, not a group of beautiful homes, but a community.”
