Actor Kevin Spacey was rushed to a hospital in Uzbekistan on Monday after experiencing possible heart attack symptoms while in the country for the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival, per reports.
Spacey, 64, experienced numbness in one of his arms while touring the Afrasiyab Museum in Samarkand on Monday, The Sun reported Wednesday.
The House of Cards star underwent an MRI scan, but doctors found no problems with his heart and gave him the all-clear to return to the festival.
Appearing on stage at the festival later, Spacey told the audience that he initially wanted to shake off the numbness, but was advised to go to the hospital just to be safe.
It made me really take a moment and think about how fragile life is — for all of us, Spacey said.
I spent the afternoon there having a variety of tests. Staff took care of me, and even put me through an MRI, he said. Everything turned out to be completely normal, and Im grateful its not anything more serious.
At the festival, the Oscar winner announced his comeback after being acquitted of sexual assault charges in July. Spacey was charged with sexually assaulting four men, and went to trial in London, where singer Elton John testified on his behalf.
Spacey told attendees at the festival that his best roles are still ahead of him.
