Netflix Could Offer More Ad-Supported Tiers In The Future

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said the streamer could offer multiple ad-supported plans in the future.
The company launched its first ad-supported tier in November, priced at $6.99 per month in the U.S. Without commercials, plans range from $9.99 to $19.99 per month.
“We have multiple tiers today, so its likely well have multiple ad tiers over time, but nothing to talk about yet,” Sarandos said at the UBS TMT conference Tuesday.
Netflix recently raised its prices, along with some competing streamers. Sarandos also addressed the companys intent to crack down on password sharing.
“There are folks who are enjoying Netflix, literally for free today,” Sarandos said. “So, theyre getting a lot of value out of it. I think theyll be happy to have their own account.”
