The Rolling Stones will soon be releasing new music for the first time in nearly 20 years, and are set to announce details during a livestream on Wednesday.
The new album, “Hackney Diamonds,” will be the rock band’s first studio album since “A Bigger Bang” was released in 2005.
The band will share details about the upcoming album during an event Wednesday in East London’s Hackney district, which will be streamed on the Rolling Stones YouTube channel at 2:30 p.m. BST, 9:30 a.m. EST and 6:30 a.m. PST..
“Hackney may be at the heart of Hackney Diamonds, but this is a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the world via YouTube,” the band said in a statement.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood will be interviewed by “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon. A teaser video showed Fallon listening to a Rolling Stones vinyl record when the band calls him on the “Stones phone.”
The announcement was accompanied by the revelation of a single at the website dontgetangrywithme.com, but users who visit will find the song refuses to load, seemingly resulting in a “500 Error.”
It’s all part of the joke, though. The band responded to frustrated fans on social media by saying, “Sorry, don’t be angry with me…”
According to Billboard, the Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang Tour ranks seventh on its list of top 10 tours of all time, with 111 shows grossing $558 million.
Although the band hasn’t released new original music since, they did record an album of blues covers, 2016’s “Blue and Lonesome.”
