Attendees at the premiere of Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming Netflix documentary Halftime at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday night were advised to stay through the credits for a special performance.
Twitter user @melrosemeltdown was at the show, and captured video of the troupe of young performers who took the stage. Kid singers, dancers and musicians can be seen performing Lopez’s Let’s Get Loud and Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A.
After the performance, Lopez got on the microphone. Thank you so much, she said. I didn’t plan to say anything, I was going to sneak out and go to the afterparty.
Directed by Amanda Micheli, Halftime features numerous clips and moments from the 52-year-old star’s long career, which began shortly after she left home at 18 to become a dancer. The film focuses in particular on her Super Bowl 2020 halftime show with Shakira and her performance at President Joe Biden’s 2021 inauguration.
Halftime will be streaming on Netflix June 14.
