Tom Cruise brought the glamor to Cannes at a red carpet premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, dressing in a tuxedo as his co-stars glittered.
The 59-year-old unveiled the sequel to the 80s classic on La Croisette, the venue for Cannes Film Festival’s biggest events.
He escorted Jennifer Connelly, who shone in a silver and black dress, and co-stars in the sequel.
Cruise’s premiere is the biggest of the festival, which is fully back after being canceled in 2020 and running two months late in 2021.
Cruise posed for fans’ selfies, after a day taking part in a traditional Cannes Q&A session.
Maverick picks up 30 years after Top Gun and Cruise’s iconic pilot is still flying Navy fighters – this time F/A-18 Super Hornets.
Val Kilmer’s Iceman also makes a return – promoted to the commander of the U.S. Pacific fleet.
Miles Teller is Lt. Bradley Rooster Bradshaw, Goose’s son and a young pilot being trained by Maverick himself.
The movie is released in the U.S. on May 24, in what cinemas hope will be the biggest event since the pandemic.
