Jacob Elordi has been cast to play Frankenstein’s monster in an upcoming Netflix adaptation helmed by Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro.
The Euphoria and Priscilla star is riding another wave of success following his most recent endeavor, Saltburn. According to Deadline, the 26-year-old was cast in the role after Andrew Garfield left the project due to scheduling conflicts brought on by delays caused by the Hollywood strikes last year.
Elordi will star alongside Oscar Issac, who will play Dr. Victor Frankenstein in the latest adaptation of Mary Shelleys 1818 novel. Per reports, the cast will include Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth, David Bradley, Felix Kammerer and Lars Mikkelsen.
Guillermo Del Toro’s last project for Netflix, 2022’s stop-motion adaptation of Pinocchio, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature last year.
Del Toro is writing, directing, and producing the Frankenstein project for Netflix, alongside J. Miles Dale, who was a producer on del Toros Cabinet of Curiosities series at the streamer.
