Jay Leno performed for a packed house at the Comedy Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, Calif., Sunday night, less than a week after being discharged from the hospital.
The comedian was discharged from the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles Monday, ten days after sustaining “serious burns” when a vintage car burst into flames in his garage.
The former “Tonight Show” host, 72, was treated for burns to his face, chest and hands, the hospital said in a statement, and is receiving continued outpatient care.
I am pleased with Jay’s progress, and I am optimistic that he will make a full recovery,” Dr. Peter Grossman said.
Leno has been a mainstay at the Comedy Magic Club, performing there regularly since the 1990s, when he began hosting the “Tonight Show.”
