Liam Hemsworth is set to replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia beginning with the fourth season of hit Netflix series “The Witcher.”
As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia, Hemsworth wrote on Instagram to announce the news.
Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins,” Hemsworth wrote.
Cavill, an avowed fan of the games and books on which the TV series is based, had some friction with writers over their faithfulness to the source material, per reports.
As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take,” Cavill wrote on Instagram.
Cavill recently announced he will be returning to the role of Superman, after appearing in a cameo for “Black Adam.”
