Police are investigating a shooting that took place outside the Toronto, Canada, home of rapper Drake overnight.
The Toronto Police Department confirmed on social media Tuesday morning that emergency services responded to Park Lane Circle near Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East shortly after 2 a.m.
One man was transported to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, but police told local outlet City News that the injured man was not the Grammy-winning rapper.
According to police, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, and no description was provided. Inspector Paul Krawczyk of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force was expected to address the media later Tuesday.
The shooting in Drake’s neighborhood comes amid his back-and-forth feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar, with each artist releasing diss tracks. Lamar’s tracks have claimed Drake is a pedophile who has a secret daughter, a gambling addiction, and predators on his payroll. Drake’s tracks, meanwhile, have accused Lamar of cheating on and physically abusing his fiancée and claimed his child might not be his.
