Derek Hough revealed on Thursday that his wife Hayley Erbert was rushed into emergency neurosurgery after Wednesday night’s Symphony Of Dance tour stop.
The Dancing With The Stars judge, 38, announced on Instagram that his wife, a star dancer on their Symphony Of Dance tour, was being treated for a cranial hematoma, when blood fills the skull.
“At the end of last nights tour performance in Washington, D.C., my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital. She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in stable condition, Hough wrote.
“I want to thank the first responders and medical personnel who have cared for and continue to care for her. I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time,” he wrote.
As of Thursday afternoon, a sold-out show was still scheduled for Thursday night at the Sandler Center For The Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, Va. It’s unclear whether future dates will be postponed for Erbert’s recovery.
The Emmy winning dancer and choreographer married Erbert, 27, on Aug. 26, about a month before their tour kicked off. Erbert rose to fame while still in high school when she made it to the top three women on Season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance.
