Evan Ellingson, famed for his role in the 2009 movie My Sister’s Keeper, has passed away at the age of 35.
On Sunday, November 5, at 11:31 a.m., Evan Ellingson was discovered deceased in a bedroom at his Fontana, California residence, as confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s coroners division. The cause of death remains unknown, and an autopsy is slated for Monday.
TMZ was the first to break the news, with Ellingson’s father revealing that the actor had been battling addiction and passed away in a sober-living facility. Among his noteworthy roles was that of Jesse in the 2009 cancer drama My Sister’s Keeper, where he shared the screen with stars like Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin, Abigail Breslin, and Jason Patric. Ellingson, who had been absent from the screen for over a decade, also portrayed Lt. Horatio Caine’s son on CSI: Miami and Jack Bauer’s nephew on 24. His IMDb biography states that he was discovered at a skate park, leading to his involvement with Vans PeeWee team and a Vans commercial, eventually landing him roles specifically written for him.
Reflecting on his childhood while promoting CSI: Miami in 2009, Ellingson expressed contentment, saying, I never had the same childhood experience as my friends. I never had more time with them. However, my childhood was a cool one. I was busy doing the things I love. He went on to say, I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on.
