Kate Hudson on Wednesday revealed she will be releasing her first album, titled Glorious, next month.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 44, released Gonna Find Out, a new single from the upcoming album on Wednesday.
I have been waiting so long to finally say this… My album, Glorious, will be out May 17, Hudson wrote on Instagram Wednesday alongside a photo of the album cover and tracklist. You can listen to the first track, ‘Gonna Find Out,’ now!!! Stay tuned for more fun announcements. Cant wait to share all this music with you.
Hudson released the singles Talk About Love and Live Forever last month, and performed live at the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills.
Despite a longtime passion for music, she only worked in the medium privately until she felt ready to release something publicly.
“Id say it doesnt seem real,” Hudson said of her debut album in a press release. “But the truth is: this is realer to me than anything Ive done in my entire life. It was always this, I just needed to get to a place where I was ready… and the songs got to the core of who I am.”
Hudson worked with Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes along with Johan Carlsson and Danny Fujikawa to produce the music, taking inspiration from Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Madonna and Joni Mitchell.
“I wanted something that was sexy and delicious, vulnerable and strong, willing and fearless – and especially gloriously in love with the way life takes you on this journey if youll just show up and be open,” Hudson said. “I wanted songs that could reach across all that, and that is a lot to cover.”
