Netflix Begins Production On ‘Gringo Hunters’ Crime Series Inspired By Washington Post Article

Netflix has begun production on the new series Gringo Hunters, based on Washington Post reporting about Mexican police searching for American fugitives in the country.
The fictional crime series based an article written by Kevin Sieff and published by The Washington Post is inspired by Mexico’s real-life International Liaison Unit. Gringo Hunters is the first series from a partnership between Imagine Entertainment and The Washington Post.
Set to be filmed in Tijuana and Mexico City, the series stars Harold Torres, Mayra Hermosillo, Manuel Masalva, Andrew Leland Rogers, Héctor Kotsifakis, Dagoberto Gama, and Regina Nava as members of the elite police squad. Sebastian Roché, Gerardo Trejoluna, Paulina Dávila, and José María Yazpik have also been cast in the series.
Directed by Adrián Grünberg, Alonso Álvarez, Jimena Montemayor, and Natalia Beristáin, the series promises mysteries to solve, suspense, twists and turns, and the challenges and intrigue faced by this type of police operation, according to a press release.

Produced by Woo Films and Redrum in co-production with Imagine Entertainment and association with the Post, Gringo Hunters is slated for release in 2025.
