Paramount Removes ‘Star Trek’ Sequel From Upcoming Film Slate

The untitled Star Trek sequel has been taken off Paramount’s list of planned movies.
The movie, which was to be made by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, was scheduled to be out on December 22, 2023.
The announcement comes about a month after director Matt Shakman departed the proposed movie.
The movie was supposed to feature Chris Pine as Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Karl Urban as Bones, John Cho as Sulu, and Simon Pegg in Scotty’s fourth cinematic outing.
That deadline is no longer imminent since the movie has fallen behind schedule, but Paramount still lacks preparations for a new installment in its most lucrative property.
