Award-winning actor and director Ricky Schroder’s Reel American Heroes Foundation has founded the Council on Pornography Reform to produce documentaries on the dangers of porn, and spearhead legislation to raise the age of accessibility for adult content.
Schroder began his career as a child star in 1979’s The Champ, becoming the youngest Golden Globe winner in history at age 9. He grew up in Hollywood, and was inspired to found the Reel American Heroes Foundation after experiencing the negative effects of the lack of conservative values in the content we consume.
RAHF, a non-profit organization dedicated to producing and showcasing content about veterans and active soldiers, their families, and first responders, brings together creatives with more than 100 years of collective experience in writing, producing and directing films, documentaries, and television series.
Schroder, a longtime conservative activist, founded RAHF to counteract mainstream messaging and honor the values America was founded on. The foundation has already produced documentary series including My Fighting Season and The Volunteers: Fighting For Life In Syria.
Now, RAHF has founded the Council on Pornography Reform to promote a safer digital landscape and to shine a light on everyday heroes who are fighting the effects of pornography by weakening the foothold it has over society.
Our children and teens have access to adult content, such as pornography sites, at the youngest ages we’ve ever seen, RAHF said in a press release. The average age a child first sees internet pornography is 12, and 70% of young men ages 18–24 visit pornographic websites on at least a monthly basis.
The NYPD Blue alum and CPR hope to change those statistics by producing compelling and informative documentaries on the negative effects of pornography, and the way modern technology has made it almost inescapable.
RAHF and CPR are also actively working with lawmakers in an effort to raise the age of accessibility for adult content. CPR aims to balance freedom of choice and the protection of vulnerable populations, fostering a more informed and responsible digital society.
