Taylor Swift early Friday donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe campaign set up Thursday to benefit the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the woman killed in the mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade.
The “Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan Memorial” was created Thursday with a goal of raising $75,000 for Lopez-Galvan’s family. The beloved local radio DJ was a popular figure in the city’s Hispanic community, and around 1,300 people had already donated before Swift pushed the fundraiser over its goal.
The pop star first made a donation of $50,000 early Friday, then followed it up with another $50,000 less than ten minutes later.
“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” the Grammy-winner wrote.
Swift made the donation from Melbourne, Australia, where she is resuming her Eras Tour after jetting to Las Vegas to watch the Chiefs and her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce, defeat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
“Lisa was celebrating the Chiefs Super Bowl Victory parade when senselessly killed, a message on the GoFundMe campaign read. She is survived by two children and her husband of 22 years. She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many. We ask that you continue to keep her family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of her life. This fund will help provide vital financial support to her family as they process this unthinkable tragedy. Any amount is appreciated.”
Lopez-Galvan died Wednesday after being shot in the abdomen during a mass shooting that wounded more than 20 people, including several children. Two juveniles were detained in connection with the shooting, according to police.
Lopez-Galvans adult son, Marc Lopez-Galvan was also injured in the shooting, along with two other relatives. Her teen daughter, Adriana, was at the scene but escaped the gunfire.
