Comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish was arrested early Friday in Beverly Hills on suspicion of driving under the influence after allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel.
The Beverly Hills Police Department was called at around 5:45 a.m. Friday to perform a wellness check on a woman stopped in the middle of Beverly Drive north of Dayton Way and slumped over in her vehicle while it was still running.
Haddish, 43, was arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI. She was expected to be released later Friday, authorities said.
TMZ, which was first to report the news, said Haddish had performed the night before at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. The comedy club was hosting its 43rd annual free Thanksgiving feast for the community.
Haddish was previously arrested for improper stopping and suspected DUI in Georgia in January 2022. The Peachtree City Police Department received a 911 call reporting a driver asleep at the wheel on State Route 74.
While guest-hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April of that year, she acknowledged the Georgia arrest.
Yes, I did get charged with a DUI, which stand for Dumb Unfortunate Incidents, she joked.
