This week saw the premiere of NBC’s reboot-revival of Quantum Leap.
While it had been uncertain for some time whether the revival would take place, the focus had been on whether Scott Bakula would return to reprise the role of Sam Beckett, the show’s original hero.
Bakula stated in a tweet that after seeing the pilot screenplay, he decided against taking part in the series.
Bakula stated “As the show has always been near and dear to my heart, it was a very difficult decision to pass on the project,” adding “As so many of you have been asking me the last several months, How could you do QL without Sam (or Al, for that matter)? Well, I guess were about to find out.”
