Model and actress Keisha Nash Whitaker, former wife of actor Forest Whitaker, has died at the age of 51.
No cause of death has been shared publicly, but their youngest daughter, 25-year-old True, shared the news on her Instagram Stories.
“Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond,” True wrote. “The most beautiful woman in the world…thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. Ill see you in my dreams and Ill feel you in my heart.”
Keisha Nash Whitaker shared three daughters with the Oscar winner: True, 27-year-old Sonnet, and 32-year-old Autumn. Forest Whitaker had a son, Ocean, from a previous relationship.
The couple first met on the set of the 1994 film Blown Away, in which she played his love interest. They married two years later in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Forest filed for divorce in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences.
Keisha Nash Whitaker has modeled under Elite Model Management and Ford Models, and became Tommy Hilfiger’s first Black model. She reportedly struggled with anorexia for many years, finally entering rehab for the eating disorder in 2014.
