Warner Bros. Discovery on Monday announced a slate of new offerings to celebrate the 25th anniversary of HBO original The Sopranos, including the release of never-before-seen footage.
The celebration kicked off Monday with the launch of The Sopranos: 25th Anniversary collection streaming on Max, including deleted scenes and more than five hours of behind-the-scenes content. HBO also launched an official Sopranos TikTok account featuring a “Sopranos in :25 series, with 25-second recaps of all 86 episodes.
“’The Sopranos’ left an indelible imprint on the global entertainment culture and was instrumental in defining HBO as the destination for groundbreaking, award-winning programming,” Zach Enterlin, Executive Vice President, Brand, Content and Creative, Streaming Marketing, HBO and Max, said in a statement. “The many ways we will honor this 25-year milestone will allow fans to celebrate the Soprano legacy and pay tribute to the characters that have had such an enduring impact.”
On Wednesday, Jan. 10, exactly 25 years after the series premiere, fans in New York and Los Angeles can order the official Satriales pop-up on delivery app Postmates for an authentic Sopranos-inspired Italian sandwich from Ggiata in L.A. and Regina’s in NYC.
Also on Wednesday, Alamo Drafthouse will host “Family Reunion” fan screenings of the pilot episode in New York and Los Angeles.
Max will also reunite the cast for a private, invitation-only Family Dinner, transforming the venue into a Sopranos-themed setting, complete with a curated menu inspired by the show.
From Jan. 11 through Feb. 4, New York City Italian restaurant Da Nico will serve a special Sopranos-themed menu featuring dishes including Carmela’s Baked Ziti and Satriales Special Caprese.
Max is also partnering with cast members Robert Iler and Jamie-Lynn Sigler for a special episode of their podcast, Not Today, Pal, in which they’ll reminisce about their roles as Meadow and AJ on The Sopranos and answer questions from fans. The episode will air on Jan. 18.
Some episodes of The Sopranos will be made available to sample for free on select cable partners’ on-demand platforms, and season one episodes one and two will be available for free on Max’s YouTube channel.
