‘Unscathed’ Ian Ziering Speaks Out After Brawling With Bike Gang In Los Angeles

Actor Ian Ziering is speaking out after he was captured on video brawling with a gang of bikers that swarmed his car in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star was driving with his daughter on Hollywood Boulevard on Sunday when a crowd of motorized bikes weaving through traffic swarmed his vehicle. In a video originally posted by TMZ, it’s unclear whether a collision took place, but something prompted Ziering to get out of his vehicle, and punch one of the bikers.
A violent brawl broke out as other bikers swarmed the Sharknado actor, throwing punches left and right. Ziering made a run for the sidewalk as one of the bikers tried to keep hold of him and another tried to trip him. Bystanders could be seen filming the encounter from the sidewalk.
Ziering, 59, was eventually able to get away, and later returned to his car and drove away. He wrote about the alarming incident on Instagram on Monday.
Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself, Ziering wrote.
I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace, he wrote.
This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient, he wrote.
Although police were not immediately called to the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident, per reports.
I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety. We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences, Ziering wrote.
