Two-time WNBA champion Kelsey Plum and New York Giants tight end Darren Waller filed for divorce on Tuesday after one year of marriage.
I’m devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go, Plum wrote on her Instagram Stories shortly after the news broke Tuesday.
God has given me an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends, the Las Vegas Aces guard wrote.
Plum and Waller married in March last year after dating for about a year. Waller, who played for the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders for five seasons, was traded across the country to the Giants just after their wedding.
One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day. Thank you for the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward. Today and everyday I will continue to choose joy. Much love KP, the 2020 Olympic Gold medalist wrote.
Plum is currently training with Team USA ahead of the Paris Olympics, and will start a new WNBA season in May.
