Dwayne The Rock Johnson said he was contacting the Musée Grévin in Paris, France, after it unveiled a wax figure of the actor with skin so light that some on social media said it looked like Mr. Clean.
On Sunday, the actor and former wrestler shared a video on Instagram that showed comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. roasting the wax figure.
It looks like The Rock has never seen the sun a day in his life… You make the Rock look like he David Beckham. It looks like The Rock is going to be a part of the royal family, Jefferson said. Did yall even Google him?”
In the caption, Johnson said he legit belly laughed when Jefferson asked, Is this how yall felt when you lost the Little Mermaid?”
I knew my boy @jamesjeffersonj had this Rock wax statue in his roasting crosshairs, Johnson wrote.
For the record, Im going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements- starting with my skin color, he wrote. And next time Im in Paris, Ill stop in and have a drink with myself.
On Monday, the museum announced that changes were already underway.
Our artists are already working on improving the waxwork of Dwayne Johnson. Your feedback is always valuable to us, the museum said.
On Tuesday, a museum spokesperson told Forbes that the wax figure was fixed during the night and was ready for selfies with visitors.
Johnson is next set to appear in the Christmas action-adventure movie Red One from Amazon/MGM, which he also produced. He’ll star alongside Chris Evans, Kiernan Shipka, and Lucy Liu, with J.K. Simmons appearing as Santa Claus.
