After the firms were unable to agree on a contract extension, Disney removed its programming from being broadcast on Dish TV and Sling TV channels.
In seven markets, the issue has an impact on the availability of Disney channels such as
ESPN, FX, the Disney Channel, and ABC local stations.
According to Dish, Disney allegedly walked away from the negotiation table and refused to make its programming available to millions of Dish and Sling’s US subscribers.
Disney, for its part, claimed in a statement of its own that Dish “declined to reach a fair, market-based agreement with us for continued distribution of our networks.”
