Ice Spice To Make Film Debut Alongside Denzel Washington In Spike Lee’s ‘High And Low’

Ice Spice will make her acting debut alongside Denzel Washington in Spike Lee’s next film, High and Low.
The casting of the 24-year-old Princess Diana rapper, whose real name is Naija Gaston, was reported by Deadline Wednesday.
Apple Original Films on Wednesday confirmed High and Low has entered production, by posting a photo on social media showing Lee and Washington holding up the number five, marking their fifth collaboration together.
High and Low will be Lee’s reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 thriller of the same name, which itself was based on the novel King’s Ransom by Ed McBain.
Ice Spice has rocketed to stardom since releasing her viral hit “Munch (Feelin U)” in 2022 and embarking on a friendship with Taylor Swift. Since then, Spice released the 2023 EP Like..? which spawned the hits “Gangsta Boo” and “In Ha Mood.
She was nominated for four Grammys this year: Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, Best Pop/Group Duo for her collaboration with Swift on the Karma remix, and Best Song Written For Visual Media for her collaboration with Nicki Minaj on Barbie World for the Barbie soundtrack.
Earlier this year, Ice Spice confirmed during an appearance on Today that her debut album, Y2K, is coming soon.
